EGMF suggestions to improve the Machinery Directive

The Machinery Directive, setting rules for the machinery safety, is one the core piece of EU legislation for the manufacturers garden and outdoor power equipment.

The review of Machinery Directive is the occasion to move towards a paperless European industry by embracing the available technologies to supply information to product users and authorities.

EGMF provides concrete suggestions to improve current provisions to:

  1. Allow manufacturers to provide electronic documents and simplified version of the instructions in printed format for the machinery purchaser
  2. Enable market surveillance authorities access to the declaration of conformity (DoC) in an electronic format
