01 Apr The revision of directive 97/68/EC on emission limits
EGMF position paper on the revision of directive 97/68/EC on emission limits for internal combustion engines for non-road mobile machinery.
EGMF supports the aim of improving the existing requirements in directive 97/68/EC via a regulation that extends the scope of emission limits and machinery concerned, and that is aligned with the requirements of type-approval regulations. However, garden machinery manufacturers using CI engines in the power categories 19 to 56 kW will experience major difficulties in redesigning their machines to meet the Stage V limit values during the given transition period due to a number of constraints elaborated in the position paper. Therefore, EGMF is requesting an extension of the transition period only for EGMF users of CI engines in the above-mentioned power categories, so that the period for redesign totals 30 months and 6 additional months are granted for placing on the market.
